04:29 pm - wow, over 2 months since my last update
A fair few things have happened since then, Moogy is going from strength to strength, I turned 33 and poor LaWode has started his chemo treatments for his weird lumps. The steroids and chemo seem to be doing the trick in that the lumps are shrinking and he doesn't seem to be having any adverse side effects. It's weekly treatments for a while til we can see how it's doing for him. Fingers crossed for Bubba Bean.

Weekends have been mostly spent at Mark and Dans playing with the niblets if they're there and drinking beer and watching films if they're not cept this weekend which sees me in bed with horrible cold trying to get rid of it before work tomorrow. Working my way through my collection of Two and a Half Men. On disc 2 of series 2 now :D series 3 is next courtesy of Mark and Dans birthday generosity :D

Making a weekly occurance of going to the cinema on Fridays which is cool and so far every film has been a winner :D

Really looking forward to my next Daddio tattoo, this one feels like something new, a rite of passage maybe cos I have a feeling it's going to be the first one to actually hurt.

I have such a craving for chinese chicken noodle soup right now!! Chicken soup for the soul :D
Thanks to Mrs Wonderful for the addition to the Coo Stack :D

02:10 pm - phew
Moogy has been at the vets today to get his teeth sorted out. He had to have a drip in while they put him under to make sure his kidneys weren't over worked cos he was a bit dehydrated but the vet has just rang and he's through it ok and we can pick him up in about 2 hours when he's slept off the sedation and anaesthetic a bit more. We are so relieved!! We couldn't let him eat anything from about 10 last night so he's been looking at us like we're punishing him and then to have to leave him at the vets while he was still awake looking at us like he was never going to see us again was heart wrenching.
An evening of pampering and general lashings of cuddles for my little man as he relaxes after a hard day I think.
Thinking about it today, it was really quite fortuitous that a vets opened up round the corner when it did.
On the subject of teeth extractions, yesterday Theas tooth started playing up again and her face and neck started to swell up again so she got in at the emergency dentists after work and wonders will never cease the cool dentist took it out!! He said he might not be able to if the infection affected how the aneasthetic was absorbed cos she'd be in too much pain but when he'd jabbed her with it she couldn't feel a thing and it came out with only a few pulls. It was the first time I'd seen a tooth extraction. I've had teeth out so I know how it feels and how I thought it would look from what I was feeling but never actually seen it happen. It is exactly how I thought it was. Pliers and general brute strength and then this huuuge tooth was out and in the bin!!
She is a bit sore but not in pain like before. I can only think that the other dentist wouldn't take it out because the infection before was too bad to have made the anaesthetic effective.
While we've been waiting to hear about Moogs me and Ma have been taking our mind off what was happening by watching Mamma Mia and singing along :D and I've come up with a plan for the tiles in the bathroom. Productive day.
Roll on 4pm and Moogy coming home!!

08:12 pm - A day of many meanings
Today is......
Theas Birthday, Hels Birthday and Demelzas Birthday and
Fathers Day.
It also happens to be the Summer Solstice but at the moment for me Theas Birthday and Fathers Day come before that.
Thea was at the tattooists today for her flaming 8 ball which I had sneakily paid for when I went in for my latest sitting on Thursday. Michelle had made a cake for Danny and Theas Birthdays which was the shape of a huge cupcake and tasted of yum!
Thea burst into tears when she found out there was nothing for her to pay for todays sitting but she was happy :D
We went and picked up Micklemas Daisy and went back home for a wee BBQ and Theas pressies. She was well chuffed with the BBQ from Aunty Shirl and was happy to have a Pocket Ninja of her own :D
We're both booked in for Daddio tattoos on his birthday and are enjoying planning things out for the up and coming sittings, it's nice when your tattoist is as enthusiastic as you are about an idea :D
I got Dad a card and we both shared some thoughts and memories about him while Thea was being inked.
so,
Happy Birthday to my wonderful Sister, Happy Fathers Day to my wonderful Dad, Happy Birthday to Hel and The Melz and solstice greetings to all, oh and Happy Fathers Day to Dads around the world hope you got to have a wonderful day with your kids :D

arm is still sore but by crikey it's worth it :D

06:34 pm - bum
Today I bumped into Julie who I used to work with at Threshers which was my first job. It was really nice to see her and a little weird seeing as I'd only thought about her the other day, sadly she had some bad news. Maz, our Boss from Threshers has died. I know she'd been having trouble with her diabetes cos last time I saw her about a month or so ago she was still recovering from a near fatal diabetic coma but I wasn't expecting it at all.
She was the woman who saw something worth nurturing and training in me when others did not and was willing to take a chance on a scruffy redhaired kid with no experience. She was a fantastic Boss who became a good friend. It is sad news indeed. :(
It was purely by chance that we bumped into Julie seeing as we hadn't planned to go to Wilkos so everythings feeling a little well timed, you know when you realise the only reason you saw someone or found something out was because you did something you hadn't set out to do.
Funeral is tomorrow in the same chapel as Dad but there is not a hope in hell of getting the time off at this short notice so I shall remember her in my own way and know she knows I'm thinking of her.
Today is also the year anniversary of Beckys' Mum dying so I sent her a text to say I was thinking of her and hugs for the day.
Moog was at the vets today and has now been booked in for his dental work in 2 weeks time. We agreed that it needs to be done so it doesn't keep reaccuring and causing him pain and thankfully he will go in in the morning and then be back home in the afternoon. We were worried incase he had to stay in over night as he's never been away from us for any period of time let alone over night.
It's been a busy week with lots of stuff changing but I'm riding the waves and coming out on top for a change.

07:39 pm - new shoes, new phone, shiny shiny
I have new shoes just in time to look sparkly and clean for the mystery shopper this month. I also have a new phone, because of this some of my contacts have dissappeared so if you're reading this and think you should be on my contacts list send me a message on here with your number and I'll stick you in :D
Today I have been painting everything green, that wasn't the plan you understand, it's just what happened with my slap happy style of fence painting. Also I've been playing with the hedge trimmer and fighting the urge to hack peoples heads off as they pass by my front hedge ;)
Dinner last night was a rather scrummy nom nom lasgane courtesy of Samola. Lashings of garlic bread and no sloppy evil cheese sauce, just the way I like it.
Reading Weaveworld again cos I just couldn't get it out of my head aftter giving my spare copy to James cos he couldn't find it anywhere and was missing it from his Clive collection.
Midsomer Murders 6th boxset is waiting to be cracked open :D

so folks, if you want to be on my contacts list drop me a message and I shall make it so, unless I hate you then I wont  ;p

10:36 pm - it wont stay on the wall
I finished my funky two part painting today but it wont stay on the wall, darn it! Other than that I'm really quite happy with it :D

The week has been good, with steak after work on Weds, breakfast with Samola on Friday and bbq fun yesterday. Glad to be painting again and this time it feels different, less manic and obsessive and more relaxed and enjoyable. People have mentioned at work that I seem more relaxed and I do believe I am. Home is where the heart is after all, well for me anyway.
Looking forward to my next tattoo sitting and giving them my plans for the next Daddio one and seeing what they can add to it :D Oh, and hopefully I get to upgrade my phone tomorrow yay!
Got checklisted and got 95% cos I was a tad longer than 2mins in my search for an alternative but hey, I got six or seven 100%s under my belt, always nice to know I can improve on things every now and then.
Reading Copycat by Erica Spindler, it's a not bad, a bit childish in its writing somehow but flowing ok.

11:04 pm - the lynx effect???
Ever had one of those days when things are just a bit daft? Today was mine....
We got up uber early to get Ma's car to the Mazda place for it's first yearly service first thing. Upon dropping it off one of the guys offerd to give us a lift to town or anywhere we fancied going while the service was in progress so we decided to go to Morrisons. The guy who gave us the lift used to live in one of the houses that backs on to our garden and we had a good catch up chat, he hadn't heard about Dad and we hadn't heard about his Mum dying. He took us in the uber smart but awfully bouncy Mazda 4x4 and dropped us in the carpark. As we were getting out this car reverses warp speed out of his parking bay and nearly crushes my fookin legs against the 4x4. I only got out of the car cos the guy had stopped reversing like he had seen us parked there, quite frankly we'd be bloody hard to miss cos the thing was huge and black and shiny. The guy seemed oblivious and as he kept coming back I was shouting cos I couldn't get out of the way fast enough. Somehow in a werid hopping flinging motion I managed to get behind the 4x4 and out of the way just as the car stopped a mere inch from hitting the 4x4! I was waving my arms around and shouting "Are you trying to fokin kill me???" but the guy just straightened up and drove off! I looked around me to check I hadn't just dreamt that and a guy waiting to go past was shaking his head in disbelief and gesturing at the driver like "what the fuck?"
In Morrisons a weird old guy practically stood on me while I was looking at the nuts and dried fruit then a little kid was gawking at me like I was an alien, Ma politely told her it was awfully rude to stare and that her parents should have taught her that.
We walked back to the Mazda Garage just in time to be told the car was sorted and they were just about to ring us. A quick chat with Uncle Mick who works near by in the Fiat part of the company and we were off to Sainsburys for the fortnightly shop.
All around Sainsburys people insisted on standing on me, walking into me and trying to insert trolleys into places they really shouldn't go. At the checkout I politely but firmly removed a trolley from my ass that a wayward child had decided to shove there. I put it out the way and shoook my head at the kid, Ma laughed.
A trip to Homebase saw me nearly get my head taken off by a bunch of bean canes.
I conclude from the magnetic effect regarding people feeling the need to squash, maim or crush me that I was wearing the wrong perfume today!!
As my sister would say "Fooookin Spiders"

07:24 pm - yay!!!
So, today we were back at the vets with my little Moogy for his recheck and a progress report on his teeth.
He was such a good little man, when we were getting ready to go he went into the cat carrier of his own accord and snuggled down on his blanket! We wandered over and the vet saw us straight away. He weighed him and lo and behold he'd put on a considerable amount of weight in the space of a week which just made us realise how much his teeth must have been bothering him for a while. He hadn't been off his food noticably but he hadn't been eating much crunchie stuff and tended to refuse to eat his wet food if it had gone a bit dry. Now we know why. I feel really bad that we could have noticed it sooner but we'd put his drooling down to him having milk cos when we stopped giving it him he stopped drooling so much. Any hoo, he checked out all fine and the vet gave him his innoculations and we're to go back in 3 weeks for his follow up jab when the vet will also recheck his teeth cos in the long term he will need to have some out else the cycle will repeat itself endlessly and needlessly.
I'm so proud of the little guy, he was wonderfully behaved and doesn't appear to hold it against us :D
The other day when I was sat in the garden he went licky kicky up my leg, in reverse... his bum was up in the air and he had both sets of paws wrapped round my calf. It was most amusing and seeing as he was biting me as well it reassured me his teeth weren't giving him any jip which is very good :D
In other news I've sorted more stuff out and got rid of more stuff too. My room is resembling a well looked after and cared for space which it is and I feel totally at home and relaxed there :D All I need to do now is sort out finishing my planned painting for the wall and get it up :D
All in all a good day and I'm so glad my Moogy is making leaps and bounds on the health front :D

09:09 pm - yesterday
me and Ma went for a nice walk down the Cromford Canal path. It was a really nice walk, intermittant showers didn't diminish the scenery and we were both bowled over by the soooo cute Dab Chicks and their ability to dive for prolonged periods of time when foraging for food for the even cuter chicks. We also saw a Jay for the first time, it was huge, magpie size and soo beautiful. I never realised they were that big.
We had our sarnies and then went for a bimble round Arkwrights Mill just across the road. Nothing much of interest, some art exhibitions with some really nice stuff and some equally dodgy looking stuff and a whole party of school kids who took over the gift shop in their noisy rabble.
We began our trundle home and saw a sign for a garden centre so thought we'd give it a look. We pulled into the car park and thanks to poor signage we nearly ended up in a local blood drive instead! A hasty backing out and swift trot across the car park and we discovered the path to the garden centre. The garden centre was a bit of a one man show but we got 6 corn plants, 3 webbs lettuce plants, a plant for the pond and some Caramac bars!!! Yes, I found Caramac bars in a strange little garden centre! Finally after searching the local sweety shops!!
My dvd unit arrived today along with my uber Truffle Coo and some bits for Thea. Dvds have now been put away and bedroom is looking mighty fine :D
Ma and Aunty Shirley didn't go linedancing today cos Uncle Mick was back having more tests after nearly crashing a car he was delivering when he passed out. He's having a chest xray incase there's any residual damage from the pneumonia a little while ago.
fingers crossed if there is anything wrong it will be easily fixed.
Moogy has been eating his antibiotic breakfasts like a good boy and I haven't heard him cough today so looks to be making progress, we find out on Thursday what is going to happen about his teeth.

12:51 pm - this week....
I've been to the vets with Moogy, he had started coughing quite loudly accompanied by a kind of yowly sound like when you accidently stand on his tail. He wasn't off his food or anything and still quite lively so we just wondered if he'd swallowed something he shouldn't or had managed to snort some of the ant powder we'd put in the green house. So, bearing in mind the last time he was at the vets was probably when his previous owners took him for the snip which I think was the reason he ran away from them and came to live with us we coaxed him into the carrier and he was soooo well behaved, he lay down and mewed a bit but he could see we were there with him and was fairly calm. The vet checked him over and listened to his heart and lungs which he said were fine *much relief*  and it turns out he has really bad teeth which had made his gums sore and infected and as a result his glands had flared up so his throat was sore too. His throat being sore and swollen was making it hard for him to swallow all the excess saliva from having sore gums so he was trying to cough it out. The vet gave him an antibiotic jab and a anti inflamatory jab and my little Moogy was so well behaved I was so proud. We've been given a weeks course of antibiotics that we can mix with his food and we go back next week to have a progress check up cos he might need to have some of his teeth out in the future. We shall see, he seems more lively and he's eating like a horse now but still coughing every now and then.
I have finally got round to dying my hair again so I am covered in dye :D
I have watched the last of my Midsomer Murders investigations and have the next boxset on the way along with the new Green Day cd *woot*
Yesterday me, Ma, Aunty Shirl and Uncle Mick went to the food festival at Bolsover Castle and saw Brian Turner. The weather was very patchy but we managed to nip into alcoves and buildings when the skies opened so didn't get wet really. The little castle is really beautifully deocrated and the owner had a huge fireplace fascination. Some of the fireplaces were big enough for me to stand in!! I mean I could still get up them to do the chimney sweep number they were that huge!
After that we went to the garden centre at Chatsworth and we picked up a healthy looking kiwi plant.
When we got home Ma did my roots for me so I could slap the red about today and not be ornage anymore So currently I'm sat on my bedroom floor which is covered in many towels while I catch up on Criminal Minds S3 and cuddle my little Moogy who is snuggled up to my leg :D
According to the Vodafone website that is now working again I get to upgrade my phone on June 1st so I think it will be the C905. I've read the reviews and it sounds like a good choice. Mega mega pixel camera :D

09:17 pm - truly original
The other day I was talking to a very nice customer about tattoos cos she'd asked about mine and said she was planning more. I asked her what work she had already and she laughed then proceeded to explain about her tattoo....
Her Nan was nicknamed Betty Beetroot by her family and after she died they'd had this little thing that whenever they saw a butterfly they'd say "That's Nan" so she had a tattoo of a beetroot with butterfly wings on her thigh in memory of her. I was blown away by how beautiful an idea that was and, as the girl said, she wanted a tattoo that no one else would have. I explained about my hand tattoo and she smiled and we agreed that tattoos that mean something to you personally are wonderful ways to remember people you love.
I'm so looking forward to my next sitting and also always have the next Daddio Tattoo planning in the back of my mind so I know what I'm having when his birthday comes around this year :D  Only got to wait about a month and I will have nearly a full arm hopefully, I fear I may be addicted, oh well, there's worse things to be addicted to ey?!
Had my appraisal at work today and Becky and I had both come up with the same things for my strengths and weaknesses although she had expressed a concern for my sometimes lack of enthusiasm though she said it had improved of late :) Other than that she is very happy with me and my work, good oh!
Got lunch with Rach planned for next week so we get to catch up with what she's been doing since she left Schuh.
Had a very weird dream last night that Stu had one of his ears removed and was sporting a rather diasterous 80's ponytail!! Bizarre!

09:48 pm - We did it!
Today me and Rach did the Race for Life. We didn't run, that would've been a disaster but we walked it in an hour and have hopefully raised some money for a good cause for just spending a bit of time walking in the sun.
A big thankyou to all of you who sponsored me and I'm sure the online sponsorship thing will be open for a while yet if there's anyone who still wants to throw money at me for not being lazy for once.
www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/charlottedolphin
It was really nice chatting to Rach as we ambled round, she's househunting with Andy at the mo so will be having a house warming soon, should be a laugh. Me and Andy have had some monumental arguments/discussions about films and books in the past but they're good arguments, the ones that are actually quite evenly matched and well thought out and make you think.
Sis and Jay came and got Mas old mattress while we were at Darley Park and took it to Daddios so the hall is once again free. Once we have sorted some more I can get the rest of my stuff stashed and out of the way at Jimbo ma Kimbos.

Once again, a HUGE thankyou to all my sponsors

10:28 pm - sleep, those little slices of death how I love them!
Today I saw the most awesome Jeep. I was stood at the bus stop waiting to go to work and there it was, green, gorgeously shiny, with it's own winch on the front. A Jeep Wrangler in it's finest form. I swear I actually drooled and said "I'm in love" much to the bemusement of the woman at the bus stop next to me. The guy in the Jeep seemed pleased with the attention obviously thinking it was him that was impressive, no knob jockey, it's your car!!! Today was a 6 jeep day. I have aquired the habit of counting them when I see them, the more I see the better I feel. When I came out of work there were two side by side in the carpark that me and Thea squeed over calling them 'the twins' it's a Dad thing :D
Twas another of Jonathans play tonight and he continues to rock in a very funny manner. He always projects himself well and while some of the other people involved sound like their still reading their lines he always comes across like he's meaning them and actually making them his.
Very funny play and who knew that was why Elvis died!! Or that hamsters would maybe want to go to hedgehog themed fancy dress parties?!
Sponsors are trickling in for Saturday and I think my total stands at about £55, over half my initial target so far. Fingers crossed more will come in so I can at least reach my target. It's not like I walk 5k everyday after all :D
I'm now on the 5th Midsomer Murders Boxset and Scott will be exiting soon making space for Jones. Keeping an eye out for Boxset number 6 and soon my Murder she Wrote and Columbo s10's will be here :D Finished Bloodletting as well, it's a personal account of a womans struggle with self harming and being bipolar. It's quite eye opening to how people can be blind to things just because they don't want to have to admit that someone isn't perfect, or right in the head. Anything for an easy life eh? Also it highlighted the fact that treatments in any form, be it medication or therapy don't work the same way for everyone and some don't work at all for some people. Back to Richard Montenari now.

12:06 am - leaving dos and 60th birthdays
Last night was Kays leaving do. The meal was yum, PIzza Express with garlic bread and mozzerella then their Polla de Astra pizza with a g n t to wash it down. Kay had some tears when Jenna had to leave to go to work and then we headed to Varsity. It's generally quite pants in there and when half the people you're out with go home early its even more pants. We left there and went to Fat Cats which was absolutely rammed but at least I got tot he bar without having a physical altercation like in Coyote Wild which was the next port of call after I had burst into tears outside The Bell cos they were playing Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd. Of all the Floyd songs you think you might hear in a pub in town I was not prepared for that one, it could only have been more upsetting if it had been Learnign to Fly. It stopped me in my tracks like a wall of sound and that was me done for. Alex and Tom tried to comfort me but being told by someone who has never had her Dad in her life that she knows how it feels is a bit weird especially when she later admits she will never experience it cos of never knowing her Dad. Sometimes I just need to cry it out. After that I really wanted to go home but didn't want to let Kay down so went to Coyote Wild with them. At the bar a guy pushed infront of me and I lost it and threw him across the floor. He looked startled and ran off. I may be short but DO NOT take advantage of me!
Eventually Kay decided she also wanted to call it a night so we saw Alex and Tom safely to the Blue Note *spit* and then caught our respective taxis and buses home. I was tucked up in bed listening to PInk Floyd on my ipod by half 12.
Today we played croquet and Gnome bowling at Uncle Micks 60th do. We set fire to flying things and played with screamer balloons. A good time was had by all :D
I miss Dad so much and sometimes it really hits home when you least expect it and knocks you for six again.

08:24 pm - who knew??
Well, I am now back home and almost settled in aside for the piles of books and dvds that need to find somewhere to live. Saturday night saw me sat amongst piles and piles of books trying to work out which ones I could actually get rid of. After the first book went in the 'to go' bag it seemed to get easier and I was amazed at what I used to feel I needed and now don't. So now there are 3 big 'bags for life' bags full of books to go, one of which is going to Boss S's mums table top sale for the hospice she works at and the other 2 for the table top sale Ma and Aunty Shirl are doing at the place they go Line Dancing at.
Bit by bit things are fitting in and I actually got some quality sleep on Saturday night which was a wonderful feeling, to wake up knowing I actually slept solidly for 5 hours which is like a marathon of sleep for me I can tell you.
Went to the bank today to sort my change of details so that should be done by tomorrow so Tawney wont get buried under my mail anymore.
Spoke to Mick on Saturday as well and he was cool with everything so long as we were ok with it all, he's a great landlord and a very good friend.
Work went quite fast today which was good
hope the veggies enjoyed the rain

09:16 pm - new and shiny
Mostly this weekend I have been tearing my hair out trying to get my lappylaptop to behave itself and failing miserably. I tried all sorts to fix it and finally lost the will to carry on when it lost all of my music files and failed to recognise any of my photo files including ones of Dad that I had uploaded to keep safe, how ironic.
The usb ports kept pretending they didn't work so anything I plugged in was there, then it wasn't, then it was, totally infuriating! Itunes doesn't work with heyzoos so I had no way to sort out the lost music files and at 2am this morning I was ready to cry with frustration cos it just wasn't playing ball.
The outcome is that I now have a new laptop that is currently rediscovering all my lost music files woot! Hopefully I will be able to find the photo files and get them on a memory stick to put on here
.
The rest of the weekend was spent in the garden planting lots of good stuff that will hopefully keep us in veggies and such for a while.
Work is back to being normal after the 2weeks Easter Holiday and today we found out who got the trainee position in Nottingham
. I'd thought it was equal odds for Demelza and Kay as they both have experience and knowledge. Turns out Kay just pipped Demelza by having more on paper experience so in tow weeks time she's off to new pastures!
Saw Sarah today although I didn't realise it was her cos she wasn't pregnant last time I saw her. 7 weeks to go and worried she will be a naff mum, silly head, she'll be fine :D
Jill came by as well and got some shoes for her interview tomorrow so hopefully they will prove lucky for her.
I'm hoping I can get my ipod sorted and have lots of lovely music back where it should be. Here's to shiny new toys!

10:55 am - bugger
yesterday Ryan, who I work with was in a really bad car accident and had to be rushed to hospital for surgery to fix his legs. At one point they thought he'd broken his back and hips and that he could die.
It looks like it was a broken femur that made it look like there was a problem with his hips and they have operated to pin it in place so hopefully things will heal well. He's still in a bad way but they're working on him so although he wont be back to work anytime soon hopefully he'll make a swift recovery.
We all agreed to use some of the housekeeping prize money to get him a pair of vans as a get well present and Jen took them over to him at the hospital when he'd come out of surgery.
get well soon matey x

10:49 am - who knew?
Ma has been after a weathervane for a while now for keeping an eye on what direction the wind is blowing when the fire sometimes blows back filling the kitchen with smoke so we had a look at some garden centres on Thursday when we went fish hunting but the selection as quite limited so I thought I'd check out the net.
I found the ones we'd seen in the garden centre at a similar price but obviously there'd be p&p on top of that and then I found some on other sites. Hitlers Tits they can be expensive! Upwards of £120 for some of them!
Back to the drawing board for a bit I think.
It's been an odd couple of days but I got another 100% in my checklist so I think that makes 6 I've had so far. Hopefully we'll have a decent night out tonight paid for by Head Office to say thankyou and congratulations for all our hard work in these tough trading times.
Hope everyone has a nice Easter weekend wether you celebrate it or not :D
